Alanah Kenyon
About Our Owner
With over 15 years in the beauty industry across Washington, Oregon, and now Arizona, my journey has taken me from an uncertain start to becoming a passionate hairstylist, salon owner, and educator.
Though I didn’t initially set out to be a hairstylist, my entrepreneurial drive led me to a career that blends creativity with the power to boost self-esteem. Now, after a decade behind the chair, I’m taking the next step—opening my own commission salon.
My passion lies in elevating the industry through education and mentorship. I’ve coached stylists and salon owners on business strategy and financial independence, and I’m excited to bring that same support to my own team.
At the heart of my philosophy is the belief that authentic relationships build successful businesses. I’m committed to fostering a supportive environment where stylists can thrive creatively while benefiting from a structured yet flexible commission model.
I’m dedicated to challenging abusive industry practices such as employee misclassification, lack of support, and limited financial growth. A profitable salon should ensure financial success for its stylists, too.
My goal is to create a salon where stylists grow, thrive, and build lasting relationships—with the salon, their clients, and their peers. By empowering individuals, enhancing their skills, and fostering community, I believe we can elevate the beauty industry as a whole.

Join Our Team at Studio Linea
At Studio Linea, we take hiring seriously because we’re not just building a team—we’re creating a supportive, high-performing salon culture where every stylist thrives. Our hiring process is designed to ensure that every new team member is a great fit, both in skill and mindset.
Here’s what to expect when applying to join us:
1. Application & Resume Submission
Start by filling out our simple application and submitting your resume and any relevant details you think we should know. This helps us get a feel for your experience, specialties, and what you're looking for in a salon environment.
2. Personality & Work Style Assessment
We use a short personality test (the Enneagram) to gain insight into your work style, communication preferences, and strengths. This helps us build a balanced team and maintain a culture of growth, collaboration, and professionalism. There are no "wrong" personalities or Enneagram types—this is simply a tool to support our team’s success and ensure a great fit for both you and Studio Linea.
3. Initial Interview with Salon Owner and Hiring Consultant
If we feel you might be a great fit, you’ll first meet with our Hiring consultant, Kristy. She plays a huge role in our hiring process, and her insight is invaluable in making sure new hires align with our team and culture.
Next, you’ll have a conversation with our salon owner, Alanah. This interview is casual but in-depth—we’ll talk about your experience, goals, and how you see yourself growing at Studio Linea.
We believe in really getting to know our applicants because we know you’re interviewing us just as much as we’re interviewing you. Our goal is to build a team that’s in it for the long haul, so we take the time to make sure every hire truly aligns with who we are and is committed to excellence in both their craft as a hair dresser and in who they are in their personal life.
4. Team Meet & Greet
Since we’re a close-knit team, we believe it’s important that potential new hires and current team members get to know each other. You’ll have the opportunity to meet some of our stylists and assistants so we can all ensure it’s the right fit for everyone prior to being offered a position. We value our salon team and believe its important for them to be involved in hiring decisions. So you may be asked to interview/meet with a team member or stylist and even an assistant potentially.
5. Technical Interview (if applicable)
Depending on your role, you may have one or two hands-on technical interviews to showcase your skills. You’ll work with two models, treating them as new clients. We’ll observe your client interactions, communication style, consultation approach, and overall salon presence. This is your opportunity to demonstrate your expertise, professionalism, and ability to collaborate with both clients and coworkers in our salon.
6. Final Offer & Onboarding
Once everything aligns, we’ll extend an official offer and begin the onboarding process to set you up for success at Studio Linea.
